Application process
To get you started on your postgraduate journey, we’ve broken down the application process in a step-by-step guide below. When you’re ready, you can start your application directly by selecting the apply button on your chosen course page.
Your application
- It’s all online! You won’t need to print or post anything to us.
- An advisor will support you with tips, advice and queries.
- You can check your application progress via the UAL Application Portal.
Step 1. Register your interest
So you’ve found an online Master’s course that you’d like to apply for? Take the first step by registering your interest on the relevant course page. One of our Recruitment Advisors will be in touch to offer personalised advice about your course of interest, eligibility criteria, and to answer any questions you might have during the application process.
Step 2. Check entry requirements
Before starting your application, check you meet the entry requirements - you'll find these on the course page.
If you don’t meet the requirements, please get in touch. We encourage students with a range of backgrounds and experiences to apply. If you feel a course is right for you but you’re not sure whether you’re qualified or what information to include in your application to evidence your ability to succeed in the course, our Recruitment Advisors are here to help.
Step 3. Check the English Language requirements
If English isn’t your first language, you may need to show evidence of your English language ability. We accept a variety of English tests and, in some cases, can provide exemptions. Speak with your Recruitment Advisor for advice or visit the course page.
Step 4. Initial application
You will need to submit an initial application, where you’ll be asked to upload your CV, personal statement, transcripts and certificates. Depending on your chosen course, you might need to provide additional documents at the next stage of your application (see step 6).
Step 5. Submit your application
Once you’ve submitted your application, we'll aim to get back to you within 1 working week to update you on the status of your application. You can also access the Application Portal to check the progress of your application.
Step 6: Additional supporting documents
Your chosen course might require you to submit additional documents that can only be uploaded after the initial application stage. This might be a short video or portfolio.
If required, you'll receive detailed guidelines on how to present and upload your files. While requirements vary by course, this is your opportunity to showcase your knowledge and experience. Our Student Recruitment Advisors are here to help with any support you need.
Step 7: Application success
If your application has been successful, you’ll receive a notification with your unconditional offer. Once you accept this offer, you’ll be invited to pay a deposit to secure your place on the course - this will cover the price of your first unit and will not be an additional cost.
Once you enrol on an online course with us, you’ll have access to a dedicated student success team who will give you the information and resources you need to start your course with confidence.
You’ll also be invited to a welcome webinar where you’ll meet your course lead and fellow cohort.
We look forward to seeing your creativity in action!
